BITHYNIA. Nicomedia. Philip I, 244-249. Tetrassarion (Bronze, 28 mm, 12.25 g, 7 h). M IOYΛIOC ΦΙΛΙΠΠOC AYΓ Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Philip I to right, seen from behind. Rev. NIKOMHΔЄΩN ΔIC NЄΩ/KOPΩN Lectisternium decorated with palmettes; below, bucranium and and uncertain object over a rooster and a he-goat. RG 377. SNG von Aulock 832-833. Very rare and with an interesting reverse. The obverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, very fine.
